Biketoberfest: Best Scenic Motorcycle Rides in Volusia County
Great news! Daytona Beach City declared, after much deliberation, that Biketoberfest will proceed this year from 15 – 18 October. We, at Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, are thrilled to welcome bikers, road trippers, travelers, and bike enthusiasts from all across the country who throng here in tens of thousands for our city's October extravaganza! The city is gearing up with its usual gusto to celebrate Biketoberfest. Come, stay with us and enjoy the Florida sun and sand, and the sweet sounds of freedom!
Discovering Daytona's Scenic Secrets in Fall
October is the perfect time to travel to Daytona Beach. With temperatures ranging between daytime 82˚F and 66˚F at night, you get to soak up the mellow sun. Whether you choose to ride to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse; spend the day watching the cavalcade of customized motorcycles on the Main Street; or go exploring the mystic abandoned village Eldora, you couldn't have chosen a better time to be outdoors.
Head out for a full day ride to the Ocala National Forest with its unpaved forest roads. It is best to leave early with a packed lunch because you are sure to be tempted to stay a little longer than planned. A cooling dip in the forest springs is the perfectly peaceful way to connect with nature in its most pristine beauty.
If you would rather not to wander too far from the action on High Street, then a half-day ride on the Ormond Scenic Loop is something you cannot miss. This is by far the most picturesque stretch of natural beauty in Volusia County.
You can see dolphins leaping from the waters of the Atlantic Ocean as you ride along the long, open roads of pure bliss. The 30-mile long loop from Ormond Beach to Flagler Beach running through canopies of oaks and hardwood forests is a sheer biker's delight. In Flagler County, you can also find the remnants of the brick road, which was part of the 6,000-mile-long Dixie Highway connecting Michigan and Miami in the early 1900s.
If riding on the beach is on your bucket list, then you can check it off at New Smyrna Beach, and Daytona Beach. Take your pick! It is 23 miles of hard-packed sand to cruise on. You will be riding in heaven with the Atlantic Ocean breeze on your face and the October sun on your back. October is the nesting season for the sea turtles. So, while you're at New Smyrna Beach, why not park your bike and go and watch the sea turtles? If the skies are clear, you might even get a glimpse of the launch pads at Kennedy Space Centre.
Fun Attractions at the Biketoberfest
2020 celebrates the 28th Annual Biketoberfest and the Main Street is where all the action is! There are a number of parking lots for you to park and play. Restaurants and bars are operating at 50% indoor seating capacity and 100% outdoor seating. Social distancing measures must be followed. The City has disallowed street vendors this year, but there is still a lot happening at the Main Street. You might catch a glimpse of famous biking personalities enjoying the sights and sounds.
