Head to the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach for The Florida Trucking Association Truck Driving Championships. The national truck driving championships is a two-day competitive event for professional truck drivers who want to earn titles and awards.
The Florida Trucking Association Truck Driving Championships will be held at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach this June. The two-day event is hosted by the American Trucking Associations each year, a competitive event where professional truck drivers put their skills to the test. It dates back to 1937 when it was originally known as the National Truck Rodeo.
Today, the competition includes a written exam, pre-trip skills test, and a course driving skills test. Competitors must demonstrate their skills and knowledge through these tests and also undergo a personal interview. Winners are named in eight classes of competition from 50 championships across the country, alongside winners of the auto transporters class at the regional TDCs.
The Florida Trucking Association Truck Driving Championships motivate truck drivers to maintain advanced knowledge about truck driving laws and truck driving safety best practices. All competitors must be accident-free for at least one year before the competition and show proof of logging in accident-free miles before they can compete. The spirit of the competition is to be named among the best of the best in the industry, earn a title, and achieve the ultimate The Grand Champion designation.
This event is not open to the public and attendees can stay at the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort/Ocean Walk Village nearby for easy access to the Ocean Center. This oceanfront hotel offers spacious accommodations and onsite dining options for overnight and extended stay guests.
